A concave lens of refractive index $1.5$ is immersed in a medium of refractive index $1.65$ . What is the nature of the lens?

Given - $_{a} n_{l} = 1.65,_{a} n_{g} = 1.5$

it is clear that $_{a} n_{l} >_{a} n_{g}$

therefore $_{l} n_{g} =_{a} n_{g} /_{a} n_{l} < 1$

in this condition $\frac{1}{f_{l}} = (_{l} n_{g} - 1) (1 / R_{1} - 1 / R_{2})$ ,

$\frac{1}{f_{l}} < 1$ i.e. -ive

it means nature of lens will change , the concave lens will behave like a convex lens
