When we take the inside of the spoon as our reflecting surface and keep it far away we see an inverted and diminished image. This implies it is a real image and hence the mirror is behaving as a converging mirror. But, when we come to close to the spoon, we see an erect image. This means it is a virtual image and so the mirror must be behaving as a diverging mirror. Therefore, we can say concave mirror can act as a converging or diverging mirror depending on the position of the object.
