Solution

(a) mass of the empty bottle: 25g
volume of empty bottle=(mass of bottle filled with water- mass of empty bottle )/density of water
volume of empty bottle=(55-25)/(1g/ml)=30ml

(b)density of empty bottle =mass of the empty bottle/ volume of empty bottle
=25g/30ml
=(5/6)g/ml
=0.83g/ml
