• The digestion stage, in $Amoeba$, occurs in the presence of several enzymes that break the large molecules of food into smaller and soluble molecules in food vacuole.
• The digested food present in the food vacuole is absorbed directly into the cytoplasm by diffusion.
• On assimilating food $Amoeba$ grows in size.
• The undigested food is eliminated by the rupture of cell membrane and is thrown out of the body.
