Solution
Amoeba obtains the food through phagocytosis process.
Since Amoeba has no mouth, it takes the food into its body i.e., ingestion by means of pseudopodia, which completely encloses the particle of food that is enveloped in vacuoles.
The digestion stage, in Amoeba, occurs in the presence of several enzymes that break the large molecules of food into smaller and soluble molecules in food vacuole.
The digested food present in the food vacuole is absorbed directly into the cytoplasm by diffusion.
On assimilating food Amoeba grows in size.
The undigested food is eliminated by the rupture of cell membrane and is thrown out of the body.
