Question

Question 99

A dining table is purchased for Rs. 3200 and sold at a gain of 6%. If a customer pays sales tax at the rate of 5%. How much does the customer pay in all for the table?

Solution

The cost price of the dining table = Rs. 3200
The dining table sold at a gain of 6%.
So, selling price of the dining table = 3200+6100×3200=3200+192=Rs.3392
Also, customer pay sale tax = 5%
Selling price with sales tax = 3392+3392×5100=3392+169.6=Rs.3561.60
