Given,
The ratio of ages $= 12 : 15 = 4 : 5$
Total money $= 1800$

So, the money has to be divided in the ratio $4 : 5$

Let the shares be $4 x$ and $5 x$ respectively. [0.5 marks]
Now, $4 x + 5 x = 1800 9 x = 1800 ⟹ x = 200$ [0.5 marks]

The share of the 12 year old son
$= 4 x = 4 \times 200 = ₹ 800$ [1 mark]

The share of the 15 year old son
$= 5 x = 5 \times 200 = ₹ 1000$ [1 mark]

Hence, the shares of 12 year old son and 15 year old son are ₹800 and ₹1000 respectively.
