Solution

Dear Student,

It is given that a flowerist buys 100 dozen roses at Rs 2 per dozen. So, the cost price CP of the 100 dozen roses =Rs 2×100= Rs 200.The profit percent is given to be 20%.The formula for profit% is given by, profit%=profitCP×100profit%=SP-CPCP×100profit%=SPCP-1×100profit%100+1=SPCPSP=profit%+100100×CPSubstitute the values to get, SP=20+100100×200=120×2=Rs 240.Since 20 dozen roses are mutilated, the quantity sold is 80 dozen. So, the flowerist should sell the flowers at Rs 24080 per dozen. Thus, the flowerist should sell the flowers at Rs 3 per dozen.
