A girl starting from a point walks in a circular park of radius 70 m and comes back to the same point. Is the distance covered and the displacement, the same? Justify.

Distance is the actual path length covered by a body whereas displacement is the shortest distance between final and initial positions of the body.
As, the girl comes back to the same point she started from, displacement of the girl is zero.
The distance covered by the girl = circumference of circle = 2πr
= 2×227×70 = 440m
