Question

A given mas of water is cooled from $$10^oC$$ to $$0^oC$$. State the volume charge observed. Represent these on a temperature volume graph.

Solution

When water is cooled from $$10^oC$$, the density of water first increases up to and the decreases on cooling, further $$4^oC$$ to $$0^oC$$. Hence, the density of water is maximum at $$4^oC$$ which is equal to $$1\ g\ cm^{-3}$$.
