Question

A Mendelian experiment consisted of breeding pea plants bearing violet flowers with pea plants bearing white flowers. What will be the result in F1 progeny

Open in App
Solution

All the plants in the first filial generation will be having violet coloured flowers since the genes for violet colour trait are dominant over the genes for the white colour trait.

In the F1 progeny all the plants will be having violet flowers because violet colour is dominant and the white colour is recessive.
