Solution

The correct options are
A roasting
B calcination

Processes used for converting metal ore to metal oxide are roasting and calcination.

Roasting is done for sulphide ores which produce metal oxides and SO2.

Calcination is done for carbonate ores which produce metal oxide and CO2.

CO2 reacts with lime water Ca(OH)2 to form calcium carbonate(CaCO3) which is milky white in colour.

Ca(OH)2+ CO2 CaCO3 + H2O

Sulphur dioxide also turns lime water milky.
