A metallic sphere of radius 4.2 cm is melted and recast into the shape of a cylinder of radius 6 cm. Find the height of the cylinder.

Radius of sphere = 4.2 cm, radius of cylinder = 6 cm
Volume of sphere
=43πr3
=43π×4.23
Volume of cylinder
=πr2h
=π×62×h
Since volume of cylinder =volume of sphere
=π×62×h=43π×4.23
Hence, height of cylinder
h=4×π×4.233×π×62
=2.744 cm
