Given, initial velocity of the motorboat, $u=0$, acceleration, $a=3.0m{s}^{-2}$ and time, $t=8.0s$
Let $s$ be the distance covered.
From second equation of motion, distance, $s=ut+\frac{1}{2}a{t}^2$
Therefore, distance covered by the motor boat $=0\times 8+\frac{1}{2}\times 3.0\times 8^2$ $=\frac{1}{2}\times 3\times 8\times 8$ $=96m$
