Solution

(a) Pulmonary vein:

  1. It is the blood vessel that brings oxygenated blood to the human heart.
  2. It brings the blood from the lungs to the heart.
  3. It is the only vein that carries oxygenated blood.

(b) Right chambers:

  1. Right chambers of the human heart comprising of right atrium and right ventricle receives deoxygenated blood.
  2. Inferior vena cava and superior vena cava pour the deoxygenated blood into right atrium.

  3. From right atrium the deoxygenated blood enters into right ventricle.

(c) De-oxygenated blood is sent to lungs:
  1. De-oxygenated blood comes from the body to the upper chamber on the right, the right atrium, as it expands.
  2. Then it contracts to transfer the blood to the right ventricle causing it to dilate.
  3. The right ventricle, in turn, pumps it to the lungs through pulmonary artery for oxygenation.
