A particle is moving with a constant angular acceleration of 4 rad/s2 in a circular path. At time t=0, particle was at rest. Find the time at which the magnitudes of centripetal acceleration and tangential acceleration are equal.

The correct option is A 12s
Initial angular velocity of the particle wi=0
Angular acceleration α=4rad/s2
Using w=wi+αt
w=0+αt w=αt
Thus radial acceleration ar=rw2=rα2t2 ...........(1)

Also tangential acceleration at=rα ........(2)
Equating (1) and (2) we get rα2t2=rα
t2=1α=14 t=0.5 s
