A ray of light is incident at 60°,on glass-air interface. Then the light ray will-

Solution

Here in this situation, both conditions of total internal refraction are satisfied as:-

  1. Light Ray is traveling from denser(glass) to rarer( air).
  2. The angle of incidence ( in denser medium) is greater than the critical angle for glass- air inference(~ 42°).Here in this case angle of incidence is60°.

So,light rays refract back to glass.

I am answering keeping in mind that this is classical picture of light.
