A rectangular lawn, 75 m by 60 m, has two roads, each 4 m wide, running through the middle of the lawn, one parallel to length and other parallel to breadth. Find the cost of graveling the roads at Rs. 5.50 per m2.

The area of road parallel to length is 75×4=300m2
The area of road parallel to breadth is 60×4=240m2
The area of road at middle is 4×4=16m2
The total aea covered by road is 300+24016=324m2
Cost of 1m2 is 5.50
Cost of 324m2=5.50×324=1782Rs.
