A rops lies on a table such a part of it hangs down the table. When the length of hanging part is 1/3 of entire length the rops just begins to slide. The coefficient of friction between the rops and the table is :-

The correct option is B $$\dfrac{1}{2}$$
$$\mu$$ = Coefficient of friction
Apply motion of equation
or 
$$\mu(\frac{2}{3} L) \times mg = \dfrac{1}{3}(L) \times mg$$

$$\mu = \dfrac{1}{2} = 0.5$$
