The correct option is C $$-\dfrac {1}{2}mv^2$$
$$T.E=K.E+P.E= \dfrac{1}{2}mv^2 + (-\dfrac{GMm}{r})$$
But $$v^2= \dfrac{GM}{r}$$
$$T.E= \dfrac{1}{2}mv^2+ (-mv^2)$$
$$\implies T.E= -\dfrac{1}{2}mv^2$$
