B

C

D
7.2

Solution

The correct option is D 72.2
Let marked price $$= M$$
Selling price $$= S$$
Discount $$= D$$
$$S =$$ $$M\times (1-D)%)$$
Hence, $$S$$ after first discount $$= M\times (1-0.05)=M\times 0.95=80\times 0.95=76$$
The second discount is applied on the discounted price of $$76$$
Hence, final selling price $$= 76\times (1-0.05)=76\times 0.95=72.2$$
