Solution

The correct option is **D** 240

Let train started with x passengers from first station

Let train started with x passengers from first station

On second station one third passengers down and 120 in

Then second station train started with (2x2−120) passengers

After second station half passenger halt and 100 passenger in

Then third station train started with 12(2x2−120)+100

∴12(2x3−120)+100=240

⇒x+180+300=720

⇒x=240
