A triangle and a parallelogram are constructed on the same base such that their area are equal. If altitude of a parallelogram is 50cm, then find the altitude of the triangle.

It is given that base of the triangle and a parallelogram is same.

Let the common base be b.

Altitude of a parallelogram ,h1=50cm

Let the altitue of the triangle =h2

Area of the triangle = Area of the parallelogram

12×b×h2=b×h1

h2=2h1

h2=2×50

h2=100cm

Hence, the altitude of the triangle is 100cm.
