(ii) the cost of cementing the floor of the verandah at the rate of rs. 200 per $m^2$

Outer dimensions

$=l^{\prime }=5.5+2\left(2.25\right)=10$

$b^{\prime }=4+2\left(2.25\right)=8.5$

Area of veranda

$=l^{\prime }{b}^{\prime }-lb$

$=\left(10\right)\left(8.5\right)-\left(5.5\right)\left(4\right)$

$=85-22$

$=63m^2$

Cost $=200\times 63$

$=12600$Rs.
