A well of diameter 3 m is dug 14 m deep. The earth taken out of it has been spread evenly all around it to a width of 4 m to form an embankment. Find the height of the embankment.

Given :
Well diameter (d)=3 m, height (h)=14 m
Embankment width =4 m

Volume of well = Volume of embankment

πr2h=πR2Hr2h=R2H(1.5)2×14=(5.521.52)×H

3.15=284H=31.528=1.125m

Height of embankment =1.125 m
