Solution

(a) Physical changes that occur during puberty in boys

  • Broadening of chest and shoulders.
  • Deepening of voice and appearance of facial hair.
  • The appearance of body hair and pubic hair.
  • Increase in size of genitals.
  • Growth spurt.
  • Ability to ejaculate.

(b) The testis is an organ which produces sperms in human males.

(c) The male reproductive system consists of a number of sex organs that play a role in the process of human reproduction. These organs are located on the outside of the body and within the pelvis.

The main male sex organs are the penis and the testicles which produce semen and sperm, which, as part of sexual intercourse, fertilize an ovum in the female's body; the fertilized ovum (zygote) develops into a fetus, which is later born as an infant.

(d) Seminal vesicles, prostate gland and Cowper's gland are the accessory glands in the male reproductive system in human beings.

The function of seminal vesicles is to store sperms and to secrete the seminal fluid that makes the sperm active.

The prostate gland secretes alkaline fluid and nourishes sperms which are discharged into the urethra.
