In 1808, the English physicist and chemist John Dalton proposed the atomic theory, a scientific theory on the nature of matter. It claimed that all matter is composed of small atoms and indivisible particles.

Dalton’s Atomic Theory postulates

The postulates of Dalton's Atomic Theory are listed below:

(1)Atoms are small, indivisible particles that make up all matter.

(3)On the other hand, atoms of different elements have different properties and differ in mass and size.
