Question

An electric bulb of 60 w (60watt) is used for 6 (six) hours per day. Calculate the unit of energy consumed in one day by bulb.

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Electrical energy consumed by the bulb per day = P x t = 60 W x 6h = 360 Wh

1 unit = 1 kW h = 1000 W h
1 W h = (1/1000) unit
360 W h = 0.360 unit
Electrical energy consumed by the bulb per day = 0.36 unit
