Question

An object at rest starts moving and attains a velocity of 10ms$$^{-1}$$ after 5 seconds. What is the acceleration?

Solution

Initial velocity $$u = 0$$ (rest)
Final velocity $$v = 10 \,m \,s^{-1}$$
Time interval $$t = 5$$ seconds
Therefore a $$= \frac{V-u}{t} - \frac{10-0}{5} =2\,m\,s^2$$
