The correct option is B 6m/s
In time $t_{1} = 5 s$ , object travels a distance $s_{1} = 20 m$ and in another time $t_{2} = 5 s$ , object travels a distance $s_{2} = 40 m$
Total distance travelled $= s_{1} + s_{2} = 20 + 40 = 60 m$ and
total time taken $= t_{1} + t_{2} = 5 + 5 = 10 s$
We know $a v e r a g e s p e e d = \frac{t o t a l d i s t a n c e}{t o t a l t i m e} = \frac{60}{10} = 6 m s^{- 1}$
