Since $A$ with molecular formula $C_{3} H_{6} O$ is resistant to oxidation $A$ should be $C H_{3} C O C H_{3}$ not $C H_{3} C H_{2} C H O$ . $A$ on reduction give isopropanol $(B)$ which reacts with $H B r$ to give $2 - B r o m o p r o p a n e$ $(C)$ . $C$ reacts with $M g$ to give Grignard reagent $D$ . $D$ reacts with $A$ to give $E$ .
