An unknown resistance R1 is connected in series with a resistance of 10 Ω . This combination is connected in one gap of a meter bridge, while a resistance R2 is connected in the other gap. The correct option is A 20 Ω
Case (1):


So,

R1+10R2=5050=1

R1+10=R2 ....(1)

Case (2):


So,

R1R2=4060=23

R2=32 R1 ....(2)

Now, from equations (1) and (2),

R1+10=32 R1

R1=20 Ω

Hence, option (A) is the correct answer.
