Question

Angle of declination at a place is 18 degree how can a magnetic compass be used to find the exact direction of geographical North at that place

Open in App
Solution

If it is positive declination then you turn 18o in the anticlockwise direction to the direction shown by the compass needle to get the true geographical north.

If the declination is negative then you turn 18o in the clockwise direction to compensate for the declination.
