Question

Anu and her friends planning to go for mountain hiking. So Anu carried all required things including one pressure cooker for cooking food. Manu objected saying there was no need to carry a pressure cooker at high altitude as there is less atmospheric pressure and food will take longer time to cook. She is in favour of carrying packed

We know that at high altitudes (mountain) atmospheric pressure decreases compared to that of see level. So, the boiling temperature of water is decreased below 1000C as boiling temperature is directly proportional to the atmospheric pressure. As a result it taken more time to cook the food. Instead of cooking food at mountain it is better to carry packed food.
