Anu wants to boil water quickly in a test tube. On observing the different zones of the flame, she is not able to decide which zone of the flame will be best for boiling water quickly. Help her in this activity.

A flame contains three different zones namely inner (dark) zone, middle (luminous) zone and outer (non-luminous) zone.
The inner zone is the least hot zone (600 ºC), and the luminous zone is the moderately hot zone (1200 ºC).
The hottest zone is the non-luminous blue coloured zone (1400 ºC) where the complete combustion takes place.
Therefore, Anu should keep her test tube towards the non-luminous zone for quick boiling of water.
