Area of a trapezium is 24 cm2, one of its parallel sides is 5 cm and if the distance between the parallel sides is 6 cm, find the length of other parallel side.

The correct option is B 3 cm
Let the length of the other parallel side be y cm.
Height = distance beween parallel sides
Area of trapezium
= 12×(Sum of parallel sides)×height
24 = 12×(5+y)×6
24 = (5+y)×3
(5+y) = 243 = 8
y = 8 - 5 = 3
Length of the other parallel side is 3 cm.
