The correct option is B 2 square units

Area of the triangle with vertices A(x1,y1), B(x2,y3) and C(x3,y3) = 12[x1(y2y3)+x2(y3y1)+x3(y1y2)] = 12[5(7+4)+4(42)+7(27)] = 12×(552435)=2

Since area is a measure, which cannot be negative, we will take the numerical value of -2, ie. 2.
