23, 45, 65, 98

Open in App
Solution

To compare the given fractions, we have to make their denominators the same

So, the LCM of the denominators is 3×5×8=120 [It is not always product of the numbers] (0.25 Mark)

Converting all the fractions into a common base, 120, we get the fractions as:

23×4040=80120 (0.25 Mark)

45×2424=96120 (0.25 Mark)

65×2424=144120 (0.25 Mark)

98×1515=135120 (0.25 Mark)

Now, since the denominators are same, we can compare the numbers by comparing their numerators. (0.25 Mark)

Arranging these in ascedning order we get, 80120, 96120, 135120, 144120 (0.25 Mark)

Correspondingly arranging original fractions in ascending order, we get, 23, 45, 98, 65 (0.5 Mark)
