Let the marked price be x

Step 2: Framing the equation.
Discount % =DiscountMarked price×100

20=Discountx×100
Also,
Discount = Marked price - Selling price
=x1600

Step 3: Solving the equation.
Discount % =DiscountMarked price×100
Discount 20100×x=x5
Also,
Discount = Marked price - Selling price
x5=x1600
1600=xx5
1600=5xx5=4x5
x=1600×54
x=2000
Therefore, the marked price was ₹2000.
