Solution

The correct option is C If (A) is true but (R) is false
Al(OH)3 is amphoteric in nature.
An antacid is a substance which neutralizes stomach acidity. Al(OH)3may lead to the formation of insoluble aluminium-phosphate-complexes, with a risk for hypophosphatemia and osteomalacia. Although Al has a low gastrointestinal absorption, accumulation may occur mainly in the presence of renal insufficiency. Aluminium-containing drugs often cause constipation and are neurotoxic. Aluminium-containing drugs are contraindicated in pregnancy.
