The sulphides of higher group metals remain in solution not because of their lower solubility products, but because of their higher solubility products than those of group 2 cations. Due to the common ion effect of H+ (from HCl added in group 1) the dissociation of H2S is suppressed; hence the S2 ion concentration is very low, which is just enough to precipitate 2nd group metal sulphides whose Ksp is relatively low.
