At the beginning of a month, a factory has enough materials to make 240 tons of steel in a month. If 60 more tons of steel is to be made that month, how long will the materials last?

Case1:

Time taken to make 240 tons of steel =30 days

i.e., Quantity of steel =240 tons

Number of days =30 days.

Case 2:

Here, 60 more tons of steel given.

i.e., Quantity of steel =240+60=300tonnes

Let the required number of days =x

Since, the raw material required to manufacture steel is constant, therefore,

300×x=240×30

x=240×30300

x=24

Hence, required number of days =24 days

Therefore, the materials will last for 24 days if 60 more tons of steel is to be made that month.
