In this diagram, Rosa has flask-shaped perigynous as the margin of the thalamus upwardly to produce a hollow flask with gynaecium at its bottom and remaining floral parts at the mouth of the flask. And Prunus have cup-shaped perigynous as the margin of the thalamus is turned upwardly to form a cup or saucer. Gynaecium grows from the bottom of the cup while remaining floral organs are born at the rim of the thalamus.
