The correct option is B $$i=1-(\alpha /2)$$
             $$2(Benzoic\ acid)\rightleftharpoons Dimerized(Benzoic\ acid)$$ 

Initital mole               1                         0
Mol at eq.          $$1-\alpha$$                       $$\frac{\alpha}{2}$$

Total moles $$=1-\alpha +\frac{\alpha}{2}=1-\frac{\alpha}{2}$$

$$\therefore i=\displaystyle\frac{Total\quad moles\quad at\quad equilibrium}{Initial\quad moles}=1-\frac{\alpha}{2}$$
