Open in App
Solution

A desire for expansion exposed the Romans to newer conflicts. They fought with Carthage, a coastal town in North Africa. Sicily, a fertile area, was the bone of contention between the two. These wars went on for 118 years and are referred to as 'Punic Wars'. The Carthaginians were defeated in these wars.
