Question

Calculate volume of 0.4 M NaOH required to react with following mixture.
KHC2O4(1mole)+H2C2O4(2mol)

Open in App
Solution

KHC2O4 and H2C2O4 contain one and 2 acidic hydrogens respectively. SO the mixture of 1 mole KHC2O4 and 2 moles of H2C2O4 contains total of 5 mols of acidic hydrogens.
now, 1000ml 0.4M NaOH=0.4 mole of NaOH
Required volume of 0.4M NaOH=50.4×1000ml
=12.5×103ml=12.5lit .
