Open in App
Solution

Wind pollinated flowers are different in structure from insect-pollinated ones. So,insect-pollinated flowers cant be wind-pollinated.

One of the major differences between wind-pollinated plants and insect-pollinated plants is the appearance of the flower and the nature of the pollen grains.

∙ In wind-pollinated plants, the pollen grains are nonsticky and lightweight so that they can easily be transported with the help of wind but in the case of insect-pollinated plants the pollens are sticky in nature so that they can easily stick to the body of the pollinators and can be easily transported.

Similarly, in wind-pollinated plants, the petals of the flowers are not brightly colored or scented but in insect-pollinated plants, the flowers are brightly colored having large petals and beautiful fragrances along with nectar in order to attract the pollinators towards them.

The wind-pollinated flowers differ from the insect-pollinated flowers in having no petals and light with pollen grains.
