Chalk contains $$10 \%$$ Calcium, $$3 \%$$ Carbon and $$12\%$$ Oxygen. Find the amount (in grams) of each of these compounds in $$1$$ kg of chalk.


Solution

Total weight of chalk$$=1kg=1000\ g$$

Quantity of Calcium$$=1000\times \dfrac{10}{100}=100\ g$$

Quantity of Carbon$$=1000\times \dfrac{3}{100}=30\ g$$

Quantity of Oxygen$$=1000\times \dfrac{12}{100}=120\ g$$
