Solution

Given f(x)=x2+2x+5x2+x+1.
Let us take f(x)=4.
x2+2x+5x2+x+1=4
or, x2+2x+5=4x2+4x+4
or, 3x2+2x1=0
or, (3x1)(x+1)=0
or, x=13 and x=1.
Now we have for x=13 and x=1 we have f(x)=4.
So, for two distinct values in domain we have f(x) has the same image 4.
f(x) can not be one-one.
