The Vellore Revolt of 1806 is said to have all the makings of the Revolt of 1857. They had similar reasons behind the revolt. But it failed to materialise as big as the Sepoy Mutiny did. One reason behind it was there was no civil rebellion after this. This contributed to the dying down of the revolt.
