Solution

The correct option is C 12.3
Solution 1 having strong base AOH:
pH=11pOH=14pHpOH=1411=3pOH=3log[OH]=3[OH]=103C1=103 M
Solution 2 containing strong base BOH:
Let concentration be C2=[OH]
Final solution obtained after mixing:
pH=12pOH=14pHpOH=1412=2pOH=2log[OH]=2[OH]=102 M

Concentration (Cf)=102 M
The volume of two solutions are equal.
So,
V1=V2=VVf=V1+V2=2VCfVf=C1V1+C2V2102×2V=(103×V)+(C2×V)C2=(2×102)(103)C2=[OH]=0.019 MpOH=log[OH]pOH=log(0.019)pOHlog(0.02)pOH=2log2=(20.3)=1.7pH=14pOH=141.7=12.3pH=12.3
